Photos 1, 2 and 3.  The front of the building, mainly plywood and corrugated iron and
plastic.  These are a few of the older children who will soon have to find their own way in the world.

 -  as you can see there are many add-ons, the safety of which is a concern. They were primarily erected to establish a drying area for the mountains of clothes that are washed each day. I'm constantly amazed at the ever
present smiles, as you can see.

Photo 4 The toilet  Note: the toilet bowl is not plumbed in, the actual toilet is a hole you can't see. They are hoping to get a cistern and someone to plumb the toilet in!

Photo 5 Three sides of the house are built up and covered like this for various reasons, drying clothes, a play area when the house is overcrowded (which is always).

Photo 6 The laundry.the older girls are expected to help with the hand-washing of those mountains of dirty clothes!

Photo 7 The cramped nursery. There are 11 babies at the moment. They sleep 2 or 3 to a cot most of which are donated by expats when they leave the country. As children leave more babies arrive.
The older children who will soon have to fend for themselves. Sri does her best to have them ready to face the world. These children know they can always come back for help, advice, a bowl of rice, but she encourages their independence.

To date it has been an uphill struggle, but Sri is determined not to let the children down. She is something of a marvel.

The fax number is: 021-4350638. You can also directly speak to Sri on: 021-495126 or 4353739. She has a
fairly good command of spoken English.
The orphanage doesn't have its own e-mail, however inquiries can be made to:
